New Valentine’s Traditions
I have to say that I don’t normally decorate for Valentine’s day but now that I have children, I find myself more excited to decorate for the “hallmark” holiday, as Kevin calls it.
Something about adding to their excitement makes it more of a joy than a task. Having children brings out all of the holiday excitement and wonderful memories from my own childhood.
I decided that I would start small and add more each year! Kevin, of course, agrees with this plan because he is not all that thrilled about finding a place to store all of these new decorations. Since this will probably be for all the holidays that I get inspired to decorate for!
Off To Hobby Lobby We Went, Where I always find more than I need!
Grayson was so excited to get to go to Hobby Lobby to pick out some Valentine’s decorations for the house. Mason definitely enjoyed seeing all hearts and decorations.
Mason definitely wanted to hold and touch everything, like his brother, though he still doesn’t understand the concept of being gentle just yet!
All Of Our Valentine’s Day Decor Finds
At least what we found from Hobby Lobby, that is!
Hobby Lobby always has such cute holiday decorations to choose from, which makes it really is hard to pick just a few.
So knowing, that I didn’t want to go overboard, I just wanted a couple of things for the mantel and front door, we started our search! We found a few things that we all liked.
Grayson loved the heart garland and wanted to hold it the whole time. He also wanted a different heart for the front door but it was quite small. So Kevin and I eventually talked him into the one we ended up purchasing.
Putting Out Our New Valentine’s Decor
Grayson could not wait to get home and start decorating.
Though we didn’t get all that many decorations for Valentine’s Day, it was still very exciting for Grayson. I think he was partially missing all of our Christmas decorations.
We put the wooden heart and wooden heart truck on either side of the mantel. Followed by adding the heart garland to the hooks under our mantel. Finishing off our decoration with hanging our red glittery heart wreath on the front door.
I will say, something about the little heart decorations makes it more festive in house!

The Boys Favorite Valentine’s Decoration
Because Once You Start It’s Hard To Stop! Or As Kevin Likes To Tell Me That I Have A Hard Time Saying , NO!
Sometimes it’s the little additions that become the favorites.
We came across these window decorations, when we went to Aldi for the first time.
They have been a true hit with both boys. Though one is a little to small still to handle some of them!
Grayson loves to rearrange all of the window clings. He changes the arrangement which is always followed by, him running over wanting us to see his new creations.
Mason loves to look at the hearts on the window. Though he would love to get his little hands on the little pieces, which is obviously a no-no because they would become a new snack for him, he settles on watching his brother rearrange and getting to point.
