Grayson’s 20ft Halloween Inflatable Surprise

October 10, 2023

We recently celebrated Grayson’s 6th birthday! Which in itself is crazy to think that I have a 6-year-old. The time truly does fly by. Except for those moments of pure insanity of course. It wouldn’t be a Grayson birthday celebration without an inflatable. And since his birthday is at the beginning of October he always wants a Halloween inflatable. So that he can put it outside immediately!

Giant 20-ft Halloween Inflatable Tree

It was no surprise that the main thing Grayson wanted this year for his birthday was a giant inflatable. If our yard wasn’t bursting at the seams already with all things airblown well it is definitely quite the spectacle now! He has always wanted a 20-ft inflatable and we have never had the yard to house such a monstrosity. With our new larger front yard it was actually feasible to think about actually purchasing one. I found a great deal on a 20-ft inflatable Halloween Tree on Lowe’s website.

I had the inflatable shipped to the store because we are getting to the age where they realize things are being delivered and it’s harder to hide things. So when I received the notice that the beloved 20-ft tree had arrived I sent Kevin to get it. We kept it in the back row of his truck as our “hiding” place.

I have to say when I went outside to see what the box looked like I was shocked at how ginormous it was. I had seen the boxes for the 20-ft inflatable at At Home and was expecting more along those lines. When I mentioned it to Kevin he just gave me that look like “Yeah, tell me about it”.

Time To Wrap The Huge Halloween Inflatable

When it was time to bring the giant box, which has now become a “boat”, I had Kevin carry it inside. I was not looking forward to wrapping it because it was at that size where I knew I would have to wrap both sides separately to be able to cover it completely. Once it was wrapped I placed it with all the other treasures for Grayson’s birthday. Which also included a 10-ft Christmas inflatable toy soldier.

Grayson knew immediately when he came down in the morning that the giant box housed some type of large inflatable. I was quite surprised that he took his time and opened all the ones surrounding that giant tree. He was so excited when it was time to open it that he immediately wanted to bring it out back and blow it up! To Kevin’s dismay, they headed out back to test the tree out.

Time to put up the enormous Halloween inflatable tree.

After finishing Grayson’s birthday breakfast of bacon and pumpkin pancakes, it was time to find a home for the huge tree. As the boys were pondering where they wanted to stake it down I informed Kevin it was going “in our front room window”. The Christmas Story leg lamp came to mind though this was way more obnoxious in a different sense. It still makes me laugh thinking about it. Oh, the things we do for our children.

The boys moved the inflatables that were in the front window flowerbed to make room for the 20-ft tree. There was pure joy on Grayson’s face when he saw it blow up and reach above his bedroom window. Though I can no longer see out of one of the front windows his joy in his tree is worth it! He and Mason absolutely got the biggest kick out of running upstairs to see the tree out their window. Now Mason can’t wait for his birthday so he can pick out another giant inflatable to grace our front yard!
