To Inflate Or Not To Inflate That Is Our Debate
There is nothing better than a good ole family holiday decorating debate!
It’s so funny because Kevin is on the side of the outdoor holiday decoration debate as a never-inflate. Of course, poor Grayson is on the complete other spectrum of the debate with you can’t inflate enough. Herein lies the holiday decorating dilemma at our house. Our Halloween inflatable was where we dipped our feet into the inflatable decorations world. Looking back now it didn’t take long for our yard to be busting at the seams with airblown delight!
The Halloween Inflatable Inspiration
Where Grayson’s love for inflatables began.
There is a sweet older gentleman, who lives up the street from us, and every holiday he has inflatables in his yard. It is the highlight of Grayson’s day when he gets to go walk by and see the “big kitty kitty” Halloween inflatable.
I joke with Kevin that the poor man probably thinks we are scoping out his house because of all the times we walk by and stand there looking at the yard decorations!
However there are times when the inflatables aren’t up yet, and he will turn them on just for Grayson. I think this is so sweet of him and his kindness is something I will always remember.
There is another house that is about 10 minutes from our house that has a 20 ft cat inflatable that is beyond huge and also on Grayson’s list of favorites to drive by.
Driving around and looking at people’s yards for inflatables has become somewhat of a favorite pastime for Grayson. I’m sure he will get Mason to be as enthusiastic about them as well, in time.

Finally Getting A Holiday Decoration Of His Own
Though not a cat, which seems to be his favorite, but a smaller dog inflatable!
So the other day we had to run to Home Depot. Kevin needed to get a few things to finish staining our fence. While he was getting everything he needed, the boys and I looked at all the holiday decorations.
We were secretly on a mission to find an inflatable cat, but they were all out of those. So the next best thing that we could find was an inflatable dog.
Into the cart, the box of the cute little inflatable dog went. When Kevin met up with us, he asked what my smile was for and then spotted the new Halloween decoration we had found.
After selling our choice by making the point that it was small, 3.5 ft, and Grayson would absolutely love it. Kevin eventually agreed to let us get it. Grayson could not wait to get home and put it in the front yard.

Setting Up The Devil Dog Halloween Inflatable
Once we got home, the first thing we did was open our new Halloween inflatable. We had to figure out what we needed to get the inflatable dog up and working.
Grayson and Kevin got to work with an extension cord and the instructions. Grayson could not wait for it to inflate. He kept hugging the dog and giggling.
Though somewhat painful for Kevin to let go of his “no inflatables” stance he eventually came around and thought it was not bad. It was small enough and of course, made Grayson so excited.
Mason didn’t really understand what the big hoopla was all about. But I’m sure in time he will share in the elation of inflatables.

Next, pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating!
I will say that now all we hear about is, “doggie, doggie. doggie”, followed by Grayson blowing air. Which is Grayson’s way of saying he wants his dog inflated.
Having children definitely makes the holidays so much more fun and exciting. The true awe and excitement are contagious! I look forward to all the holidays to come and am enjoying celebrating with both of my sweet boys!
