It’s Time For Fall Decorations Once Again
As I started decorating for fall this year I realized as I looked around at the finished decorations that I truly have a small obsession, or whatever you want to call it, for PUMPKINS!
I absolutely love all things FALL which means there is no surprise that I was beyond excited to be able to start decorating for the season. It also helps that I have two little people who are on my side for early decorating and their excitement is contagious.

So when Kevin wasn’t going to be home on our standard September 1st decorating date, I talked him into getting the decorations out of the shed a few days early!
With the boy’s excitement on my side, Kevin obliged though there were definitely feet dragging, to say the least. He likes to stick to his “September 1st is the earliest that fall decorations are acceptable timeline”.
After getting out all of my “trinkets”, as Kevin calls them, I quickly realized that decorating with two mobile toddlers was going to be more of a challenge than I initially planned.
Thankfully Mason quickly became bored with being told not to touch this or that. Grayson on the other hand was adamant about helping with any decorating that required a step ladder.
This year took me a bit longer to decorate with my two little “helpers” who were ever so present for the process. I told Kevin it was obviously a good thing he got my decorations out early this year. Though I don’t think he totally agreed with me. 🙂
The Kitchen & Dining Room
The Dining Room To Start
No Place Was Safe From The Pumpkins
I had a hard time deciding how I wanted to situate what was on top of my china cabinet in the dining room this year. I have to say that after a tweak here and a tweak there, an addition of this and addition of that, I finally decided that it would do!

The Island Counter
Because The Transition From Dining To Kitchen Is Quite Important
I added some pumpkins and Halloween decorations to my new tiered bins that I recently added to my counter. This was initially going to hold my bread and fruits but has become, as Kevin likes to point out, yet another thing to hold my treasures.
There Must Be Pumpkins In The Kitchen
My Own Indoor Pumpkin Patch
With my love of fall and pumpkins overkill was a must in my kitchen. Something about surrounding myself in this fall ambiance makes me want to bake and be in the kitchen.
Well at least until two little monsters find my whereabouts and start begging for this that and the kitchen sink. The decorations and small moments of quiet give me such warmth which makes me more likely to oblige their small demands!
The Living Room Area
Pumpkins In Our Living “Play” Room Too
Which Is Truly Where We Live Most Or Where The Boys Mess The Most
The living room is always in a state of rearranging. It’s such an odd-shaped room for being one room. It’s long and could technically be two separate rooms depending on the day and my mood.
Currently, we have it set up with a play area in the front when you walk in and a living area in the back closer to the kitchen. Regardless of the current configuration, I couldn’t wait to put bits of fall decorations here and there and a little bit everywhere.

The Entryway
The Introduction To The Pumpkin Theme
I didn’t add much to the entryway just a couple of pumpkins, of course, and some berry garland I bought from Hobby Lobby.
Sometimes the simplest additions are the best additions. I bought some new pumpkins to try on the little entryway ledge but they just didn’t end up looking as I pictured in the store when I bought them.
Kevin, of course. would ask me if I returned them then. But I just ended up homing them somewhere else in the house!
Pumpkins Upstairs Too
Pumpkins Everywhere
Since Two Floors Means There Must Be More
Grayson was super excited to help me decorate the little nook we have in the upstairs hallway with the rest of our pumpkins and fall decor that we didn’t use downstairs. He requested that I take his picture when we were done.
He has this new affiliation with seeing pictures of himself. Something about reminiscing with him through all the pictures I have on my phone makes me so grateful for the technology we have these days.

Outdoor Decorations To Come
Grayson Can Not Wait For “Fall” To Come
Grayson can not wait till “fall time”. He asks me multiple times a day if it’s fall time like the season comes all at once in yet a moment. His excitement is contagious and makes me just as excited about the changing seasons as he is.
To Kevin’s dismay, we are already decorating the inside of the house with our outdoor inflatables which are ever-multiplying. With the crowding feel of inflatables, I think there will be a high chance that we will get Kevin to let us decorate outside early this year just like our early indoor decorating.
Though Kevin doesn’t want to admit it both the boys absolutely love all things inflatables and I don’t think this faze will be over anytime soon.
