Anything to do with inflatable decorations is a huge hit in our house. To Kevin’s extreme dismay, this has grown into quite the collection, I must say. Since the Halloween inflatables were starting to overtake our living room, it was quite easy to talk Kevin into putting them outside early this year.

It’s amazing to think that just last year we bought our very first-ever inflatable decoration. I can still remember how excited Grayson was to be allowed to buy his very own inflatable. After seeing all these inflatables in other people’s yards and on YouTube, of course, he finally had his own.

The little inflatable devil dog from Home Depot seemed innocent enough alone in our front yard. If only we would have known what was to come after this initial purchase. Had we known this was the beginning of a small stockpile or obsession, I’m not sure we would have ever started!
Halloween Inflatables Must Go
Outside That Is
I have to say that I could not wait for all the Halloween inflatables to be rehomed outside for the duration of the season. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t like them per se, because they do bring both of my boys such joy, it’s more or less that they take up my entire house at some point.
So to get the inflatable party started I took the boys to Home Depot to get a multi-outlet outdoor extension cord.
I guess you could say I didn’t think out that plan very well.
When we got to Home Depot all the boys wanted to do was look at even MORE inflatables.
By the grace of God himself, I ended up leaving with no new inflatables, to Kevin’s surprise!
After searching for what we needed, which included sending Kevin a picture to make sure it was the correct thing, we were ready to head home.
Grayson and Mason absolutely loved riding together in the “race car” cart, where they both could pretend to steer.
This small moment of time will be something I look back on when they are far beyond too big to fit in the cart and remember their joy and laughter together.
Let The Inflation Begin
Halloween Inflatables have arrived
The boys were beyond excited to help Kevin get all of the inflatables out front and ready to inflate. Our Halloween inflatable collection grew from one devil dog last year to a ghost, small black cat, animated cat, haunted tree, pumpkins, and a pumpkin skeleton man this year.
Putting up all of these inflatables was one of those instances where they expected it to magically happen immediately. In reality, we had to situate them, then inflate them, and then stake them down.
That and the fact that it was quite hot out that day didn’t really help with anyone’s patience. Kevin wasn’t thrilled in the first place at having to put all of these inflatables out and the boys were both hot and losing interest quickly.
Though this wasn’t the picturesque family fun that we initially thought it would be, it was our family fun and the memories that we made will be some that we look back on fondly, at least for some of us!
Halloween Inflatables
All Of Our Obnoxiously Large Decorations Finally Out
Both of the boys absolutely loved seeing all of the inflatables out in their yard. They ran back and forth pointing and looking at each side of the house. They could have spent hours just revealing the large fan-inflated nylon decorations.
Thinking that moving them outside would give us some type of inflatable break was more or less a pipe dream. Grayson constantly wants to see his inflatables and would have them inflated all day every day if he was allowed.
Kevin was hoping that maybe Mason would be less enthusiastic about inflatables but as he ran around giddy saying “kitty kitty”, I pointed out to him that that was probably not the case! We all have dreams 🙂
Fall Fun To Come
So Many Fun activities to Come Like Pumpkin Patch, Apple Picking, Trick-or-Treat, and More
Now that we have our indoor and outdoor Halloween decorations out, I have to say I am super excited about all of the fun fall activities this year. Now that Mason is walking and more active it will be so neat to see both of the boys enjoy these activities together.
Last year, Mason was not big enough to really participate in everything we did, even though he was there, normally in a stroller or carrier. So I am so excited to see his reactions this year.
